Mangaluru: Former minister and Congress veteran B Ramanath Rai has downplayed the controversy surrounding Muslims offering Namaz on a road in Mangaluru, accusing the BJP of exaggerating the issue.
Rai stated that the Muslims offered Namaz on the road due to a lack of space in the mosque. “This is a minor issue that should have been resolved locally. For all of us, God is one. This is an unimportant matter,” he emphasized.
He pointed out that in the past, similar incidents did not result in suo motu cases, this case has been cancelled now. “They came out and performed Namaz because there was no space in the mosque. This matter should not have been blown out of proportion,” Rai added.
