In a moving celebration filled with devotion and joy, the Holy Spirit Congregation (Opus Spiritus Sancti – OSS) marked a major spiritual milestone on May 7 at Infant Mary Church, Bajjodi. The ceremony witnessed two sisters make their first dedication, while seven others embraced their final, lifelong commitment to the congregation.
Sr Malshila and Sr Jaya Thomas professed their temporary vows, taking their first steps into religious life. Meanwhile, Sr Anita, Sr Gracy, Sr Kavita, Sr Savita, Sr Sunita Rani, Sr Subhashini, and Sr Sheela made their perpetual profession, sealing their dedication to a life of faith and service.
The Eucharistic Mass was led by Fr Daniel Veigas, episcopal vicar for religious in Mangaluru, with Fr Dominic, parish priest of Infant Mary Church, and Fathers Cyril and Vincent (MSFS) as concelebrants. Their presence added spiritual depth and warmth to the occasion.
Sr Arogya Mary, regional superior, along with formator Sr Olga Noronha (SIW), received the vows and welcomed the sisters into the OSS fold, describing the moment as one of “grace, joy, and dedication.”
After the Mass, a felicitation event was held in the church hall where the newly dedicated sisters were honoured amidst applause and blessings from fellow members and guests. The gathering concluded with a shared fellowship meal, reflecting the unity, gratitude, and deep spiritual bond of the congregation.
