The New Mangaluru Port Authority (NMPA) will sign a concession agreement with the successful bidder, Srinivas Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre, Mangaluru, on Friday.
This agreement pertains to the operation and maintenance of the existing 32-bed hospital and the construction, operation, and maintenance of a new 150-bed multi-specialty hospital on a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) basis for a period of 60 years.
As part of the Maritime India Vision (MIV)-2030, NMPA is set to develop this state-of-the-art hospital at a cost of Rs 107 crore, enhancing healthcare access for the local community.
The new facility will include three modular operation theatres, a cath lab, and various multi-specialty services such as nephrology, neurology, cardiology, and neonatology.
Additionally, the hospital will offer pathology, pharmacy, and ambulance services, serving both the public and port beneficiaries. The foundation stone for this project was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 28, 2024.
