Mangaluru, Jun 16: The convocation ceremony at Mangalore University, known for its high standards, faced criticism this year from NSUI student union members due to the governor’s conduct, despite having prior knowledge of the event’s schedule.

Allegations of Disruption

“Once on stage, the governor and his officials created significant confusion, causing considerable disappointment. The collective conferral of honorary doctorates affected research students and others,” alleged Suhan Alva, district president of NSUI. He further criticized the governor’s behavior towards the university’s vice-chancellors as unbecoming of his position.

Unnecessary Interference

The NSUI maintains that the event, typically an exemplary award ceremony, was disrupted by the governor’s and his officials’ unnecessary interference.
