Mangaluru: Following a structural fault identified by the Public Works Department (PWD), Deputy Commissioner Mullai Muhilan MP has temporarily banned all vehicle movement on the old Maravoor bridge on the Mangaluru – Mangaluru International Airport road. The issue was detected in the second pier of the bridge.

PWD Executive Engineer Amarnath Jain confirmed that the old bridge will remain closed until the necessary repairs are completed. During this period, traffic will be diverted to the new bridge adjacent to the old one, which will continue to operate as usual.

The old bridge will be reopened once the fault is rectified, ensuring safety for all road users.
