Mangaluru: Omega Hospital Pvt. Ltd., Mangaluru, has successfully completed a highly complex and rare cardiac procedure involving the extraction of a 35-year-old chronically implanted pacemaker lead, marking a significant milestone in advanced cardiac care.

The patient had been suffering from recurrent fever for nearly a year, which was later traced to infection associated with the long-standing pacemaker lead. Initial evaluation and stabilisation were carried out by Dr K. Mukund, Senior Cardiologist and Director at Omega Hospital Pvt. Ltd..
