Activists from DYFI, SFI, and Janavadi Mahila Sanghatane gathered near the Clock Tower on Wednesday, strongly opposing attempts to stir religious discord regarding the missing case of student Diganth from Farangipete.
The demonstrators insisted that legal proceedings be initiated against Sangh Parivar leaders, including BJP lawmakers, for allegedly delivering incendiary speeches. They urged authorities to file a suo motu case against those accused of fueling communal animosity.
Speaking at the protest, DYFI leaders B K Imtiyaz and Santosh Bajal, along with Janavadi Mahila Sanghatane district president Jayanthi B Shetty, criticized efforts to politicize the issue. They emphasized the importance of maintaining social harmony and ensuring justice without bias.
The protestors demanded immediate intervention to prevent further communal polarization and stressed that such incidents should not be used for political mileage. They reiterated their commitment to safeguarding peace and unity in society.
