Beltangady: More than 20 passengers sustained injuries after a private bus overturned at the fourth curve of Charmadi Ghat in Beltangady on Sunday, April 26. The accident occurred on a sharp hairpin bend, once again highlighting safety concerns along the ghat stretch.
The bus was travelling from Ujire towards Kottigehara when the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle while negotiating the curve, causing it to flip over.

According to preliminary information, the mishap took place at one of the steep and winding bends of Charmadi Ghat, a route known for its challenging terrain and sharp turns. The driver is said to have lost control of the bus at the fourth curve, leading to the vehicle overturning.

Passengers returning from wedding among injured
Most of the injured passengers are reportedly residents of Andhra Pradesh and Pavagada in Tumakuru district. They were returning home after attending a wedding ceremony when the accident occurred.
Eyewitnesses stated that the bus was carrying a significant number of passengers, many of whom suffered injuries ranging from minor bruises to more serious conditions due to the sudden overturning.
