The inauguration marks the addition of a significant event destination in the city that is expected to cater to a wide range of functions, gatherings and public activities. Convention centres have increasingly emerged as important infrastructure facilities supporting community engagement, celebrations and large-scale events.
Organisers said the project has been designed to provide modern facilities while also contributing to the social and cultural development of the region.
Leaders highlight broader role of convention centres
Speaking during the inauguration ceremony, Union Minister V. Somanna appreciated the vision behind the project and emphasised the larger role such facilities can play in society.
He said convention centres should not remain limited to hosting functions and celebrations but should also evolve into platforms for innovation, community engagement and nation-building activities.
The minister highlighted the importance of infrastructure that supports public interaction and creates opportunities for educational, social and developmental initiatives.
The presence of political representatives and dignitaries from different sectors reflected the importance attached to the project and its expected contribution to the city.

Addressing the gathering, Krishna J Palemar stated that the convention centre had been established with the intention of giving back to society and contributing to broader welfare initiatives.
He said the project was developed with a focus on promoting education, empowerment and community welfare activities alongside its role as an event venue.
Palemar stated that infrastructure projects should contribute not only to commercial growth but also create a positive impact on society.
The project forms part of his wider efforts in developing spaces that can serve multiple purposes and support community requirements.
Facility offers modern amenities
The newly inaugurated convention centre includes several facilities aimed at accommodating different types of events and gatherings.
The infrastructure features a modern indoor auditorium designed for large functions and programmes. The venue also includes guest rooms and prayer facilities to provide convenience for visitors and organisers.
In addition, organisers stated that extensive parking facilities have been incorporated into the design to manage large gatherings and ensure easier access for visitors.
The range of amenities is expected to make the venue suitable for social functions, cultural programmes, meetings and community events.
Plans announced for future expansion
During the event, organisers also announced plans for “Green Valley”, an upcoming open-air venue intended for large-scale programmes and gatherings.
The proposed addition is expected to further expand the network of event infrastructure developed under the Palemar brand.
The convention centre joins other facilities under the same network, including Palemar Garden at Morgan’s Gate, Palemar Farms near Surathkal and Netravathi Sabhabhavan at Jeppinamogaru.
The inauguration of the Palemar Convention Centre represents another addition to the city’s growing infrastructure landscape, with organisers aiming to create spaces that support both community activities and social development.
