Chaos erupted at Honnakatte junction on Thursday night when a stationary tanker unexpectedly rolled forward, causing extensive damage to multiple vehicles and property.
The tanker, which had been parked on the roadside, suddenly started moving, crossed the highway, and violently crashed into a nearby hotel. The impact not only damaged the establishment but also wrecked a car and several two-wheelers.
The driver had reportedly left the vehicle on a sloping road near Kulaigudde and stepped away to visit a hotel. In his absence, the tanker began rolling uncontrollably, slamming into two autorickshaws, two cars, and a motorcycle before coming to a halt.
Upon receiving the alert, traffic police rushed to the scene to assess the situation and manage the aftermath. Further investigations are underway to determine whether negligence or mechanical failure played a role in the incident.
