Mangaluru: The Regional Passport Office (RPO), Bengaluru, will conduct a special ‘Passport Adalat’ at the Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) in Mangaluru on September 5 to address pending and complex passport applications.
The Adalat will be held from 10 am to 12 noon at the Mangaluru PSK. The initiative is aimed at helping applicants whose passport applications have remained pending due to various issues and facilitating their early disposal.
A similar Passport Adalat will also be conducted at the PSK in Hubballi on September 12.
Applications submitted by May 31 eligible
The RPO has clarified that applications submitted on or before May 31, 2026, and still pending for various reasons will be considered during the Mangaluru Adalat.
Officials will interact directly with applicants and examine their cases to determine the reasons for the delay and explore ways to resolve the pending issues.
The initiative is expected to provide an opportunity for applicants facing complicated or long-pending cases to present their concerns directly before passport officials.
However, only eligible applications that meet the specified submission date and other requirements will be considered.
Applicants are advised to ensure that their requests reach the authorities within the stipulated deadline to participate in the special session.
Consent letter must reach by September 2
Applicants seeking to attend the Passport Adalat must submit a self-signed consent letter by post.
The letter should reach the Regional Passport Office by September 2. Applicants must mention their passport application file number and telephone or mobile number in the letter.
They should also provide their email ID, if available, to enable officials to contact them regarding their application.
The envelope containing the letter should prominently carry the words ‘PASSPORT ADALAT – SEPTEMBER 2026’.
Applicants have been advised to follow the prescribed format and provide complete details to avoid difficulties in processing their requests.
Letters can be sent to Bengaluru office
The consent letter can be sent by post to the Regional Passport Office at:

Applicants also have the option of submitting the consent letter directly at the respective Passport Seva Kendras in Mangaluru or Hubballi.
This provides applicants with an alternative to sending the documents by post, particularly for those who can visit the concerned PSK conveniently.
Email copy to RPO
In addition to sending or submitting the consent letter, the RPO has requested applicants to email a copy of the letter in advance.
The email should be sent to the official RPO address, with the subject line ‘PASSPORT ADALAT – SEPTEMBER 2026’.
Sending the copy in advance is intended to help officials identify and process the requests ahead of the Adalat.
Applicants should ensure that the details in the emailed copy correspond with those mentioned in the original self-signed consent letter.
September 2 is the deadline
The RPO has made it clear that only requests received by September 2 will be considered for the September Passport Adalat.
The request must relate to a passport application submitted on or before May 31, 2026.
Applicants whose applications were submitted after May 31 will not be covered under this particular Adalat, according to the guidelines issued by the RPO.
The special session is intended to provide a dedicated platform for resolving cases that have remained pending and require interaction between applicants and passport officials.
Applicants with eligible pending applications in Mangaluru are therefore advised to submit their consent letters before the deadline and provide all required details.
The Passport Adalat at Mangaluru PSK on September 5 is expected to help applicants obtain clarity on the status of their cases and facilitate the disposal of eligible pending applications.
