Sullia: A pickup vehicle rolled backwards after the driver reportedly lost control and crashed into a house at Kurunjigudde in Sullia on Tuesday, causing partial damage to the building.
According to local sources, the Mandya-registered pickup vehicle was travelling towards Kurunjigudde when it suddenly went out of control. The vehicle then began moving in reverse, creating panic among residents in the area.
The driver was reportedly unable to stop the vehicle as it rolled backwards along the road before crashing into a house situated beside the roadside.
House suffers partial damage
The impact of the collision damaged a portion of the house wall and other sections of the structure. Residents rushed to the spot after hearing the loud crash and found the vehicle lodged against the building.
Although the damage caused to the house was significant, no occupants of the residence were injured in the incident. The accident could have turned serious had anyone been near the portion of the building that was hit by the vehicle.
