Mangaluru: The makers of the upcoming bilingual Tulu-Kannada film Picture have officially released the video of the film’s third single, Punname Kannu, adding to the growing anticipation surrounding the project. The song was unveiled by Kannada actor Golden Star Ganesh, marking another milestone in the promotional campaign for the film ahead of its release.

Produced by Shilpa Ganesh under the Golden Movies banner, Picture brings together a blend of experienced performers and emerging talent from the Tulu and Kannada film industries. The film features Nithyaprakash Bantwal, Amrutha Sudu, Devdas Kapikad, Naveen D Padil, Aravind Bolar, Bhojaraj Vamanjoor and several other artistes in prominent roles.

Golden Star Ganesh unveils the latest track

The release of Punname Kannu follows the launch of the film’s earlier singles and continues the makers’ efforts to introduce audiences to the musical essence of Picture. The unveiling by Golden Star Ganesh has added further visibility to the film, especially among Kannada cinema audiences.

The romantic melody showcases the film’s musical direction and is expected to appeal to both Tulu and Kannada music lovers. With its soothing composition and visually appealing presentation, the song reflects the emotional tone that the filmmakers intend to portray in the movie.

Samuel Aby leads the music composition

The song has been composed, arranged and programmed by Samuel Aby, who also serves as the film’s original score composer. The lyrics for Punname Kannu have been penned by Kishor Moodbidri, while popular playback singer Jassie Gift has lent his voice to the track.

The recording brings together musicians from different parts of South India. Guitar and bass portions have been performed by Sumesh Parameswar, percussion has been handled by Suresh Krishnan, while the flute sections have been played by Josy Alappuzha.

The song was mixed and mastered by Arjun B Nair at Sonic Island in Kochi, ensuring high-quality production standards for the soundtrack.

Recording involved studios across Kerala

The recording process for Punname Kannu involved multiple studios in Kerala. The vocal recording was carried out with the support of recording engineers Akash Vijayakumar of Deepak S R Productions, Thiruvananthapuram, and Sreerag Suresh of SKR Studios, Kochi.

The collaboration of musicians, recording engineers and technicians from different locations highlights the extensive effort invested in producing the song. The polished production quality reflects the filmmakers’ focus on delivering a memorable musical experience alongside the film’s narrative.

A blend of Tulu and Kannada cinema talent

Picture is written and directed by Sandeepa Bedra, who has brought together a cast comprising several familiar faces from Tulu cinema. Veteran artistes such as Devdas Kapikad, Naveen D Padil, Aravind Bolar and Bhojaraj Vamanjoor are expected to add depth and entertainment to the film through their performances.

The lead roles are played by Nithyaprakash Bantwal and Amrutha Sudu, while the supporting cast further strengthens the bilingual project aimed at audiences in Karnataka and beyond.
