Mangaluru — Police have sent a crucial voice recording to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) as part of an investigation into an alleged attempt to kill animals at Pilikula Biological Park by mixing rotten and poisonous meat into their food supply.

The case emerged after park director Dr. Prashant Pai lodged a complaint with Kavoor Police, claiming that the previous meat supply contractor had discussed adding tainted meat to the fresh supply provided by the new contractor. The conversation, allegedly recorded by park staff, revealed disturbing plans to harm the animals.

Following the complaint, police seized the mobile phone containing the audio evidence. Authorities stated that further legal steps will depend on the FSL’s voice verification and analysis of the conversation’s content.

The investigation is ongoing, and officials are treating the matter as a serious threat to wildlife safety at the popular park.
