Mangaluru: A tragic road accident occurred near the Indian Oil petrol pump in Panambur on Monday night, claiming the life of a pillion rider on the spot.
The victim has been identified as Ashraf, a resident of Kana Janatha Colony. The bike was being ridden by Muhammad Sharief from Mulki Kolnad, who sustained injuries in the incident.
According to preliminary reports, Ashraf and Sharief were travelling from Mangaluru to Suratkal when a tanker coming from Hassan and headed towards HPCL Suratkal collided with their two-wheeler. The forceful impact led to Ashraf’s immediate death, while Sharief was taken for medical treatment.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the collision.
