Mangaluru: Police intercepted a truck allegedly transporting cattle in a cruel and illegal manner on the national highway at Jeppinamogaru on Friday following information received regarding the movement of the vehicle. During the operation, officers reportedly found 27 cattle tied and being transported under alleged inhumane conditions.
According to preliminary information, police acted after receiving a tip-off from members of Bajrang Dal regarding the suspected transportation of cattle.
The vehicle was subsequently stopped and inspected by police officials, leading to the detection of the alleged violations.
Truck stopped following tip-off
