Mangaluru: Several areas of Mangaluru will experience a temporary power shutdown on Wednesday and Thursday due to scheduled maintenance work, according to the Mangalore Electricity Supply Company (MESCOM).

Power cut on August 19

On Wednesday, August 19, power supply will be suspended from 10 am to 5 pm in several areas, including Kavoor Junction, Kavoor Katte, Mullakadu and Akash Bhavan.

Residents and businesses in the affected areas have been advised to plan their activities accordingly and make necessary arrangements for the scheduled interruption.

Maintenance work to affect supply

The temporary shutdown is being carried out to facilitate maintenance and related work on the electricity distribution network. MESCOM is responsible for power distribution across Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Chikkamagaluru and Shivamogga districts.

The company regularly schedules power interruptions to enable maintenance and upgrades aimed at improving the reliability of the electricity network.

Residents advised to plan ahead

People in the affected localities are advised to complete essential electricity-dependent work before the shutdown begins and make arrangements for homes, shops and offices.

Residents can also check MESCOM’s official power-outage information for updates concerning scheduled interruptions.

Further details regarding areas affected on August 20 may be announced separately by the electricity utility.
