Puttur: A 21-year-old youth who sustained serious injuries in a road accident at Eshwaramangala in Nettanige Mudnoor village of Puttur taluk died at a private hospital in Mangaluru on Saturday after failing to respond to treatment.
The deceased has been identified as Sudesh, son of Podiya and a resident of Beriya in Kodiyala village of Sullia taluk.
The accident occurred on October 1 when Sudesh was riding his motorcycle from Eshwaramangala town towards Menala. His motorcycle collided with a pickup vehicle travelling in the opposite direction, from Menala towards Eshwaramangala.
Youth sustained serious injuries
Sudesh suffered serious injuries in the collision and was shifted to a hospital in Mangaluru for treatment.
Despite medical care, his condition did not improve, and he succumbed to his injuries on Saturday.
The accident has left his family and relatives mourning his untimely death at the age of 21.
Case registered
A case has been registered at Sampya police station in connection with the accident. Further details regarding the circumstances of the collision were not immediately available.
