In the early hours of Saturday, July 27, a fire broke out in a newly constructed house within the Kukkunduru Village Panchayat limits. The house, known as Alpha Cottage, belongs to Aiyaz Habeeb Khan.
Officers and staff from the Karkala fire station responded swiftly, successfully extinguishing the fire and averting a major disaster. The operation, led by fire station officer Albert Monis, included personnel Achutha Karkera, Jay Moolya, Nityananda, and Ravichandra. Their quick action limited the damage, though the estimated loss is around Rs 2,00,000.
