Mangaluru: A delegation from Rachana met Karnataka Minister and Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister U T Khader and sought government support, including funding and necessary assistance, for a proposed trade exhibition.
The delegation presented the trade exhibition proposal to Khader and requested his support in facilitating financial assistance and other necessary support from the Karnataka government to help organise the initiative successfully.
Minister appreciates trade exhibition proposal
During the meeting, Khader expressed his appreciation for the proposed initiative and said he was impressed by the concept presented by the delegation.
The minister assured the delegation of his support and promised to extend all possible assistance towards making the proposed trade exhibition a success.
The delegation described the meeting as positive and encouraging, considering it an important step towards securing government support for the initiative.
Ivan D’Souza leads delegation
The delegation was led by Ivan D’Souza, MLC, Government of Karnataka and past president of Rachana.
He was accompanied by Stany Alvares, president of the Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy and past president of Rachana; Roy Castelino, president of Rachana; and Alron Rodrigues, secretary of Rachana.
The representatives discussed the proposed exhibition and its requirements with the minister, seeking assistance from the state government for its implementation.
Focus on government assistance
The delegation’s primary objective was to present the trade exhibition proposal and seek institutional support for taking the initiative forward.
Government assistance could help facilitate the resources and support required to organise the exhibition. The delegation therefore requested the minister to help coordinate the necessary assistance from the relevant departments of the Karnataka government.
The minister’s assurance of support is being viewed as an encouraging development for the organisers as they work towards the next stages of the proposal.
