In a recent development, law enforcement officials carried out a surprise inspection at a beauty parlour located within the jurisdiction of the Urwa Police Station in Mangaluru, following verified reports of illegal operations being conducted on-site.

The parlour, which is reportedly operated by Sudarshan, a resident of Brahmagiri in Udupi district, came under scrutiny for allegedly violating provisions of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act.

As per official statements, officers from Urwa Police Station registered a case citing Sections 3(1), 4, 5, and 6 of the Act. During the operation, authorities successfully rescued two women from the premises, who are believed to be victims of trafficking-related offences.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Sidharth Goyal confirmed that a detailed report was forwarded to the Commissioner of Mangaluru City Corporation. The document recommended stringent administrative action, including revocation of the salon’s trade licence.

Taking cognisance of the report, the Mangaluru City Corporation promptly annulled the operating licence of the salon. This move is part of a broader crackdown on commercial entities found participating in unlawful and unethical practices.

DCP Goyal reiterated the department’s firm stance, stating that decisive steps will continue to be enforced against businesses found violating legal and moral standards.

Authorities urge the public to report any suspicious activities in their neighbourhoods to aid in curbing such offences.
