In a rare and extraordinary case, a woman from Telangana, Banoth Durga, gave birth to quadruplets at Father Muller Hospital in Kankanady. The birth, which took place after a carefully managed surgery, saw the arrival of two boys and two girls, all of whom are reported to be healthy.

The babies, who were born prematurely, are currently being treated in the NICU. Despite their early arrival, the medical team has assured that all four children are in stable condition.

Quadruplet births are extremely rare, occurring in just one in every 7 lakh pregnancies. Durga, the wife of Teja, received prenatal care from renowned gynaecologist Dr. Joylene D’Almeida. The delivery involved a dedicated medical team from both the maternity and paediatrics departments at Father Muller Hospital, ensuring the safety and well-being of both the mother and her newborns.

This quadruplet birth is a significant and rare event in the history of Dakshina Kannada district, leaving the community in awe of this remarkable achievement.
