Mangaluru: Rohan Corporation hosted a special ‘Gratitude Gathering’ at Rohan City in Bejai on Saturday, July 25, to thank everyone who contributed to the success of ‘An Evening with Shah Rukh Khan’ held in Mangaluru. The event also celebrated cinematic excellence with a felicitation ceremony honouring five personalities associated with Indian cinema for their achievements at the 72nd National Film Awards.
The gathering brought together members of the film fraternity, media representatives, event partners, officials and other distinguished guests, reflecting the collaborative effort behind one of Mangaluru’s biggest entertainment events.
Five National Film Award recipients felicitated
As part of the programme, Rohan Corporation honoured five recipients of the 72nd National Film Awards for their outstanding contributions to Indian cinema.
The awardees felicitated were Roopashree Vorkady, Shivadhwaj Shetty, Prashanth Rai, Dr Pradeep Kenshanur, and Aatish S. Shetty.
The ceremony recognised their achievements at the national level and applauded their dedication to the film industry.

Addressing the gathering, director Dion Monteiro stressed the importance of promoting cinema alongside infrastructure and technological development.
He said cities should not focus only on constructing buildings or attracting information technology investments but should also create opportunities for the entertainment industry.
Monteiro suggested that initiatives such as establishing film cities and supporting filmmakers would contribute significantly to the overall development of the region and create employment opportunities in the creative sector.

Congratulating the five National Film Award recipients, Monteiro said earning recognition at the national level is an extraordinary achievement considering the intense competition among actors, filmmakers and technicians from across the country.

Months of preparation behind successful event
Recalling the preparations, Monteiro said the Rohan Corporation team worked continuously for nearly one-and-a-half months to ensure every aspect of the programme was executed smoothly.
He said the team worked on weekends, including Sundays, and spent several late nights preparing for the event to fulfil the commitment made to the people of Mangaluru.
Expressing satisfaction over the successful execution of the programme, he said the team was proud to have delivered on its promise to bring Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan to the city.

The Gratitude Gathering concluded as a celebration of both cinematic excellence and teamwork.
