Two key roads in the Sullia assembly constituency of Dakshina Kannada will be upgraded under the Central Road and Infrastructure Fund (CRIF) at a total cost of Rs 6 crore. The foundation for the projects was laid by MP Captain Brijesh Chowta on Tuesday.
The Nintikallu–Bellare Road, stretching 6.2 km, will be improved at a cost of Rs 3.7 crore. The groundbreaking was conducted at Nintikallu junction, a strategic point connecting Puttur and Sullia. Another road, the Sullia–Paichar–Bellare stretch, will be upgraded over 3.8 km at an estimated cost of Rs 2.2 crore.
Once completed, the combined Sullia–Paichar–Bellare–Nintikallu route will enhance access to state highways and district roads, thereby strengthening the region’s transport infrastructure. It will also significantly improve connectivity to Puttur, Subrahmanya, Mangaluru, and Madikeri.
The event saw the presence of Sullia MLA Bhagirathi Murulya and local leaders.
