Mangaluru: St Aloysius Industrial Training Institute (SAITI), in partnership with the International Institute of Training (IIT), inaugurated its International Standard Skill Verification Centre in a grand ceremony held at the SAITI Auditorium. The launch marks a pivotal moment in expanding career-ready skills for students in the region.

The function began with a soulful prayer song by first-year Electronic Mechanic students, setting a reflective tone.

Rev. Fr Melwin Joseph Pinto SJ, Rector of St Aloysius Institutions, presided over the event. Karnataka Assembly Speaker Shri U T Khader graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while distinguished guests of honour included Shri Karnire Sayeed Abdul Rahiman, Shri Haneef Mohammed of Expertise Contracting Company, and entrepreneur Shri Aboobacker Kanipoyil.

Key institute leaders including SAITI Director Rev. Fr John D’Souza SJ, IIT CEO Dr. Hasainali Mohammed K (Ashraf), SAITI Principal Shri Roshan D’Souza, and Training Officers Shri Noel Lobo and Shri Wilson N were also present.

A detailed presentation showcased the vision and scope of the new skill centre, which will award globally recognized certifications.

The ceremonial lamp was lit to signify the official launch. Shri U T Khader, later felicitated for his educational contributions, praised SAITI’s 44-year legacy and stressed the rising importance of ITI-level training.

Fr Pinto emphasized long-term job security and growth through practical education. The event ended with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Mrs. Thrisha and the national anthem.

This new centre promises to empower local youth with globally competitive skills, aiding regional and national development.
