Victim identified

The deceased has been identified as Karunakar Eshwar Shetty. According to a complaint filed by his brother Venkatesh, Karunakar had left home for Mukka along with his neighbour Vishwanath, 16, who was riding pillion.

While returning towards Chelyaru, their scooter was struck by a car allegedly driven rashly and negligently by Mohammad Taufiq, who was travelling from the Udupi side.
