Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada MP Capt Brijesh Chowta lauded BJP leader Santosh Kumar Rai Boliyaar for his initiative to construct ‘Namo Kuteera’ houses for underprivileged families, describing the effort as a model not only for the district but for the entire country.
He was speaking at the housewarming ceremony of the seventh ‘Namo Kuteera’ constructed at the Adka Doddamane compound in Ullal taluk for Shravan Belchappada, the ‘Darshana Patri’ of Adka Sri Bhagavati Daivasthana.
Capt Brijesh Chowta handed over the keys of the newly constructed house to the beneficiary family and wished Santosh Kumar Rai Boliyaar good health. He said Boliyaar had strengthened the party through his continued involvement in social service and welfare-oriented initiatives.
Seventh house completed under Namo Kuteera initiative
The latest house is the seventh to be completed under Boliyaar’s ‘Namo Kuteera’ initiative, which aims to provide homes for economically underprivileged families.
The initiative was inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, according to Boliyaar, who had earlier set a target of constructing 10 houses for deserving families in Modi’s name.
With the completion of the seventh house, three more houses remain to be constructed to fulfil the target of 10 homes under the initiative.
The housewarming ceremony marked another milestone in the social welfare programme, with several political leaders, religious figures and local dignitaries attending the event.
RSS leader praises selfless social service
RSS Karnataka Dakshina Prant Sahakaryavaha P S Prakash commended Boliyaar for his continued social service and said his work had inspired others to come forward and support housing initiatives for needy families.
He said that despite being active in politics, Boliyaar had never sought power and had consistently engaged in work focused on society and public welfare.
Prakash also referred to Boliyaar’s health condition and praised his determination and strong willpower. He said there was no sense of despair in Boliyaar’s approach and that he remained determined to recover fully and continue serving society.
He further noted that several kind-hearted individuals were now coming forward to build houses for needy families, inspired by Boliyaar’s initiative.
Sri Shivayogi Durgananda Swamiji of Madur Mariyannapalu Shivadurgambha Math blessed the occasion.
Boliyaar says he has recovered 90 per cent
Addressing the gathering, Santosh Kumar Rai Boliyaar said his interaction with Prime Minister Narendra Modi had inspired him to undertake the housing initiative.
He said he had planned to construct 10 houses for underprivileged families and that seven houses had been completed so far.
Boliyaar also spoke about his recovery from illness and said that, with the blessings and support of well-wishers, he had recovered around 90 per cent.
He expressed his intention to continue with the remaining housing projects and remain involved in social service.
The initiative has focused on providing permanent housing support to families in need, with each completed house representing a step towards the target set under the programme.
Leaders and dignitaries attend ceremony
MLC Kishore Kumar Puttur, BJP district president Satish Kumpala, former mayor Premananda Shetty and senior BJP leader Seetharam Bangera were among those present at the programme.
T G Rajaram Bhat, convener of Kairangala Sharada Ganapathi Vidya Kendra, BJP constituency general secretary Mohan Raj, district cleanliness ambassador Sheena Shetty and retired headmaster Ravindra Rai Kallimar also attended.
Dinesh Sharma, BJP leaders Chandrashekhar Uchil and Chandrahas Ullal, businessman Dinesh M P, Daivajna Dinesh Panikkar and Murur Bovi Mahasabha president Harish T Uchil were also present.
Members of Boliyaar’s family, including his wife Veena S Rai, son Samyakt Rai and daughter Sparsha S Rai, attended the housewarming ceremony.
Anand Shetty delivered the introductory remarks, while Ravi Rai Pajiru proposed the vote of thanks.
The completion of the seventh ‘Namo Kuteera’ has brought the initiative closer to its target of constructing 10 houses for underprivileged families. The organisers expressed hope that the remaining houses would also be completed with the support and encouragement of well-wishers.
