Kaup, Jun 2: In a significant crackdown, Kaup police have arrested six individuals for suspected serious criminal activity and illegal possession of weapons. The arrests were made under the jurisdiction of the Kaup police station, following a complaint filed by Circle Inspector Jayashree Mane.

The incident began when six men traveling in a Scorpio were spotted behaving suspiciously near the Udyavar bridge while heading towards Mangaluru. Despite the police signaling them to pull over by honking, the vehicle continued to drive dangerously, prompting a chase. The quick response by Abdul Khader, SI Kaup, and his dedicated team led to the apprehension of the vehicle at Kotalkatte, Uliyargoli.

Upon searching the Scorpio, the police recovered a dagger, a sharp knife, a steel rod, and chili powder, all of which were seized along with the vehicle. The arrested individuals have been identified as Amithraj, Prakash, Varun Kumar, Karthik, Abhishek, and Srikanth. The police are investigating the suspects’ intentions and the origin of the weapons.

This swift action by the Kaup police has prevented potential criminal activities and highlighted the importance of vigilance and prompt response by law enforcement. The community has expressed relief and appreciation for the effective handling of the situation.
