Mangaluru’s renowned Team Mangalore, under the leadership of Sarvesh Rao, is all set to participate in an international kite festival scheduled to begin on September 13 in France. This time, the team aims to deliver a strong environmental message through their creative artistry in kite-making.
As the global conversation around the conservation of natural resources intensifies, the team is building a unique kite that symbolizes the importance of saving water. The centerpiece of their creation is a chariot-shaped kite, an impressive structure standing 18 feet tall and spanning 10 feet in width.
The artwork has been conceptualized by noted artist Dinesh Holla, with active support from team members Pranesh Kudroli, Sathish Rao, and Arun. The intricate stitching and final construction of the kite have been skillfully executed by Sarvesh Rao himself.
The kite’s design carries a deeper environmental message. It portrays a blue sky above, with hills at the bottom cradling a water pot — a symbolic representation of preserving life’s essential resource. The foreground is adorned with lush greenery, including trees and plants, reinforcing the importance of ecological balance.
Crafted using eco-friendly materials, these kites aim to captivate audiences while inspiring collective responsibility towards nature. By participating in this global event, Team Mangalore continues to blend art, culture, and activism, taking their message of sustainability to international skies.
