To accommodate the annual feast at Velankanni in September 2024, Indian Railways will run special trains. Train No. 01007, the Madgaon Junction-Velankanni Special Express, will depart from Madgaon Junction at 12:30 PM on September 6, reaching Velankanni at 12:25 PM the following day. In return, Train No. 01008 will leave Velankanni at 11:55 PM on September 7 and arrive at Madgaon Junction by 11:00 PM the next day. The trains will halt at key stations, including Karwar, Kumta, Honnavar, Murdeshwar, Bhatkal, Kundapura, Udupi, Mangaluru Junction, Kasaragod, Kannur, Kozhikode, Palakkad, Coimbatore, Erode, Tiruchirappalli, Thanjavur, Thiruvarur, and Nagapattinam.

For the festive rush during Diwali and Chhat, special weekly trains will also operate. Train No. 01463 from Lokmanya Tilak (T) to Kochuveli will depart at 4:00 PM on October 24, 31, November 7, and 14, reaching Kochuveli by 8:45 PM the next day. The return journey, Train No. 01464 from Kochuveli to Lokmanya Tilak (T), will leave at 4:20 PM on October 26, November 2, 9, and 16, arriving at 9:50 PM the following day. Stops include Thane, Panvel, Ratnagiri, Madgaon, Karwar, Udupi, Mangaluru Junction, Kannur, Shoranur, Thrissur, Ernakulam, Kottayam, and Kollam Junction.

These special services aim to ease travel during peak seasons.
