To accommodate increased passenger demand due to the closure of Shiradi Ghat from 6 pm to 6 am because of landslips, the South Western Railway (SWR) is running special trains between Bengaluru and Mangaluru.
Train number 06548 will depart from Mangaluru Junction at 1:40 pm on Saturday, July 20, and arrive at Yeshwantpur at 11:15 pm the same day. Train number 06549 will leave Yeshwantpur at 12:30 am on July 21 and 22, reaching Mangaluru Junction at 11:40 am. Additionally, train number 06550 will depart Mangaluru Junction at 1:40 pm on July 21 and 22, arriving at Yeshwantpur Junction at 11:15 pm.
These trains, comprising 18 coaches, will make stops at Bantwal, Kabakaputtur, Subrahmanya Road, Sakleshpur, Hassan, Channarayapatna, Nelamangala, and Chikkabanavar.
In related news, the following train cancellations have been announced: Train number 12658, the KSR Bengaluru-Chennai Central Daily Superfast Express, will be cancelled on July 30, August 6, and August 13. Train number 12657, the Chennai Central-KSR Bengaluru Daily Superfast Express, will be cancelled on July 31, August 7, and August 14.
These measures aim to ensure passenger convenience and safety during the ongoing road disruptions in the Shiradi Ghat region.
