Mangaluru: St Aloysius College celebrated a historic moment by hosting its inaugural treasure hunt exclusively for alumni on Sunday, January 5. Organized under the aegis of the St Aloysius College Alumni Association (SAACA), the event marked a day of nostalgia, fun, and camaraderie for participants spanning generations.
The treasure hunt was inaugurated by Fr Melwin Pinto, rector of St Aloysius College, who flagged off the first car at 9 am. The event was convened by Sumith S Rao with the support of SAACA president Anil Kumar J.
Enthusiastic Participation
A total of 20 teams, each consisting of four members, enthusiastically joined the challenge. Participants included a wide range of age groups, from children as young as four to the 84-year-old alumnus Winston, making the event a truly inclusive celebration.
In the general category, the team comprising Vikyath Shenoy Basty, Dr Vaishnavi Basty, and Divya Kini clinched first place, followed by Dr Richard Gonsalves, Andrea Gonsalves, Ancita Gonsalves, and Naveen Mascarenhas in second place.
In the women’s team category, Dr Arathi Shanbagh, Rebecca Zoie Mendonca, Zeena Flavia Dsouza, and Renisha Dsouza emerged victorious.
Alumni Day 2025: Upcoming Celebration
The excitement continues as St Aloysius College prepares for the SAACA Alumni Day 2025, scheduled for Sunday, January 12, at 6:30 pm on the St Aloysius College Grounds. The event will feature engaging programs and conclude with a gala dinner.
