Puttur 3 October 2024: In collaboration with the Kedambady Gram Panchayat, St Philomena College, Puttur,
organized a program aimed at transforming Kedambady Gram Panchayat, adopted village of the college, into a ‘Clean and
Beautiful Green Village Panchayat’ through sustainable solid waste management practices on Monday.

Addressing the gathering, Panchayat Development Officer Mr Ajith G.K. emphasized the importance of maintaining a garbage-
free environment. He urged the residents to segregate waste into wet and dry categories and hand it over to the sanitation vehicle
of the Panchayat for proper collection and disposal.

Mr Praveen D, Assistant Professor Department of Commerce, led the students in taking a pledge to contribute to the cleanliness,
beauty, and health of the village, encouraging them to serve as patriotic citizens.

Vice President of Kedambady Panchayat Mrs Jayalakshmi B., Panchayat members Mr Praveen Shetty and Mr Ratan Rai, and
staff members Mr Jayant, Mr Ganesh B., Vidyaprasad, Shashiprabha, Mridula, and members of the Sanjeevini Federation participated in the program.

National Service Scheme (NSS) officers, volunteers, and postgraduate students from St Philomena College, along with village residents, were also present at the event.

Following the formal program, volunteers conducted a cleanup drive around the village, segregating waste into wet and dry categories to promote sustainable waste management.
