Sulia: The family of a minor girl has lodged a complaint with Sulia Police alleging that a man sexually harassed the child at her residence. Based on the complaint, police registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and arrested the accused.
The accused has been identified as Krishnakumar. Police investigated the complaint and produced him before the Sulia court, which remanded him to judicial custody.
Accused allegedly visited house
According to the complaint, Krishnakumar allegedly went to the house when only two minor girls were present. He reportedly approached the elder girl and asked about her mother, stating that he had to give her Rs 50.
The girls told him that their mother had gone to work. He then allegedly asked for drinking water.
When the girl brought him water, Krishnakumar is accused of holding her hand and sexually harassing her.
Girls raise alarm
The girls reportedly raised an alarm following the alleged incident, prompting the accused to flee from the spot.
The girl’s family later approached Sulia Police and sought legal action against Krishnakumar.
Police registered a case under the POCSO Act and conducted an investigation into the complaint. Following the investigation, the accused was produced before the Sulia court.
The court subsequently remanded him to judicial custody. Further investigation into the case is underway.
