Bantwal: A Class 9 student allegedly died by suicide at his residence in Nainadu of Pilatabettu village on Wednesday, reportedly distressed over his mother’s prolonged illness.

Boy was worried about mother’s health

The deceased has been identified as Ashok, a student of Nainadu Government High School.

According to sources, Ashok’s mother had been unwell and was undergoing treatment at a hospital. His father had passed away earlier, leaving his mother as the primary support for the family.

Ashok, the youngest of three sons, was reportedly deeply affected by his mother’s declining health.

Police register case

The incident has been reported to have taken place at the family’s residence in Nainadu.

The Punjalkatte police have registered a case in connection with the incident and are conducting further investigation.

The circumstances surrounding the death are being examined by the police.
