Mangaluru: Three senior citizens staying at a hotel in Attavar were rescued after being trapped inside a lift for nearly an hour on Saturday morning. Fire and emergency services personnel reached the spot and safely brought them out.
The elderly individuals were on a tour and had been staying at the hotel. The incident occurred when they were heading to the ground floor to check out and leave.
Lift doors jam after reaching ground floor
According to the available information, the lift reached the ground floor but its doors became jammed and failed to open.
Hotel staff reportedly made repeated attempts to open the doors but were unable to free the guests. The three senior citizens remained trapped inside for around an hour and were left in a state of panic.
Fire personnel rescue stranded guests
Following a distress call, personnel from the Pandeshwar Fire Station rushed to the hotel.
The fire and emergency services team forcefully opened the jammed lift doors and safely rescued all three senior citizens.
The incident highlights the importance of prompt emergency response when passengers become trapped in malfunctioning lifts, particularly when elderly people are involved.
