Mangaluru: With the 22nd quinquennial and 432nd annual Uroos celebrations of the revered Sayyid Mohammed Shareeful Madani Dargah (commonly known as Ullal Dargah) commencing this Thursday and continuing till May 18, the Mangaluru City Police have rolled out a traffic advisory to handle the anticipated surge in visitors and vehicles.

Authorities expect traffic bottlenecks daily between 9 am and 8 pm on major roads leading to Ullal. High-congestion zones include Pumpwell to Ullal Netravathi Bridge–Thokkottu, NH-66 through Ullal, and Thokkottu Junction to Someshwara Road via Ullal Main Road, Masthikatte, and Rani Abbakka Circle.

To ease traffic flow, commuters heading from Puttur, Bantwal, Belthangady, and BC Road towards Kasaragod or Ullal are encouraged to use an alternate route through Melkar Junction on NH-75, then via Boliyar, Mudipu, Konaje, and onward to Thokkottu.

Likewise, vehicles from Farangipete, Thumbay, and Adyar travelling towards Thokkottu or Ullal should consider taking the Adyar Katte route (via Bonda Factory), Harekala Bridge, Gramachavadi, and New Padpu for smoother access.

Due to ongoing repairs on the old Netravati Bridge, traffic is sluggish, and motorists are urged to proceed carefully. The police have strictly prohibited parking along Ullal Main Road and from Abbakka Circle to the dargah. Only designated parking areas must be used.

City Police Commissioner Anupam Agrawal has appealed for public cooperation to ensure a safe and orderly event.
