A tragic accident on Friday evening in Sullia resulted in the death of a young girl and left her sister critically injured. The incident occurred at Sonthodu along the Parivarakana-Ubaradka road when a KSRTC bus collided with their scooter.
The deceased, Rachana (20), was a second-year student at a private college in Puttur. She succumbed to her injuries after the head-on collision. Her sister, Ananya (16), a 10th-grade student at Sullia PU College, sustained severe leg injuries and is currently hospitalized.
The two sisters were on their way home from Sullia when the bus struck their scooter. While Rachana was rushed to the hospital, she could not be saved. Ananya remains in critical condition. Authorities have launched an investigation into the tragic incident.
