Mangaluru, May 29, 2024: The state government has provided a compensation of Rs 5 lakh to the family of a seven-year-old girl who died after a portion of the compound wall of the Newpadpu school of Harekala collapsed due to rains a few days ago.
The school, famed as the Harekala Hajabba school, witnessed a tragedy on May 20 when the compound wall collapsed along with the gate. Shaziya (7), a third-standard student who was playing nearby, lost her life in the mishap. Shaziya was the daughter of Siddique and Jamila.
