Mangaluru, Jun 9: A minor girl of Nepalese origin, Rabeena B K (16), tragically took her own life in a rented house at Thokkottu, Chembugudde, on Saturday, June 8.
Rabeena was the daughter of Ram Sharan, a Nepalese man who runs a fast food canteen near Vrindavan Hotel in Thokkottu. The family lived in a rented house owned by Rita D’Souza. Rabeena, the second daughter of Ram Sharan, was studying in the eighth grade in Nepal before being brought to Mangaluru to continue her studies. However, she wanted to return to Nepal for her education and frequently quarreled with her parents about this.
On the afternoon of Saturday, Rabeena’s mother, Rameela, had gone to school to bring her younger children home. Upon returning, she found Rabeena hanging in the bathroom from an iron rod using her shawl. The Ullal police conducted the post-mortem and handed over the mortal remains to the family.
