A tragic incident unfolded in Kaup as an unidentified woman lost her life after falling from a train and landing between the pillars of the railway track over the Udyavara Papanashini stream. The incident was discovered on Friday evening, and the woman’s body was severely crushed upon impact.
Recovery Efforts
Social worker Suri Shetty Kaup and ambulance staff from the Primary Health Center led the retrieval of the woman’s body, which had fallen onto a beam of a large pillar on the railway track. Kaup police and railway police were present during the operation, ensuring the body was safely transported to Udupi Ajjarakadu mortuary.
Investigation Underway
A case has been registered at Kaup police station, and investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances leading to the tragic fall. The deceased, believed to be a laborer from North India, was found wearing a nightie and had a tali sare around her neck. Her purse contained 150 rupees.
