Mangaluru: The much-anticipated Tulu film Kajja has commenced its premiere screening tour across the coastal region ahead of its statewide theatrical release on June 11. Following a successful premiere show in Mysuru, the film’s team is now taking the movie directly to audiences through a series of special screenings in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts.

The premiere tour begins on June 5 and is expected to generate further excitement among Tulu cinema enthusiasts who have been eagerly awaiting the film’s release.

Premiere screenings scheduled across coastal Karnataka

The makers have announced a packed schedule of premiere screenings across key towns in the coastal belt.

The first coastal premiere will be held in Puttur on June 5 at 6.30 pm. This will be followed by screenings in Surathkal on June 6 at 1.30 pm and Padubidri on June 6 at 4 pm. Another premiere is scheduled in Udupi on June 6 at 6.30 pm.

The Mangaluru premiere, expected to attract a large gathering of cinema lovers and members of the film industry, will take place at Bharath Cinemas on June 7 at 10 am.

Following the premiere tour, Kajja will be released in theatres across Karnataka on June 11.

Film generated curiosity from teaser launch

Directed by Jishnu S. Menon and Siddharth Shetty, Kajja has attracted attention since its announcement.

The teaser, released earlier, received a positive response from Tulu audiences, many of whom described it as a film that moves away from conventional storytelling and presents a fresh cinematic experience.

The film combines elements of comedy, thriller, action and romance, offering a mix of entertainment genres. Carrying the tagline “Karma Returns”, the film promises an engaging narrative with unexpected twists.

Strong cast led by Siddharth Shetty and Vasishta Simha

Actor Siddharth Shetty plays one of the lead roles in the film. Joining him is multilingual actor Vasishta Simha, who makes his debut in Tulu cinema through Kajja.

The film’s story, screenplay and dialogues have been written by Mohan Raj, while production responsibilities have been handled by Vishanth Menezes.

Apart from the lead actors, the film features a talented ensemble cast including Aravind Bolar, Umesh Mijar, Jayashree, Shwetha Kotian, Sahana Sudhakar, Vencita Dias, Mohan Raj, Gautham Bangera, Suvarna Poojary, Savita Anchan, Shaheen Sheikh and Sannidhi Shetty.

Technical team backs the project

The music for Kajja has been composed by Likhith Prasad Shetty, while cinematography has been handled by Chandu Meppayur.

Editing duties have been carried out by Binu Napoleon. The choreography is by Vijeth R. Nayak, and the action sequences have been directed by Yoganand.

With a combination of experienced technicians and a diverse cast, the film aims to offer a fresh addition to contemporary Tulu cinema.
