Sullia: Two individuals lost their lives due to severe injuries sustained in a road accident on Saturday night.
As per police reports, the complainant, Keerthan, son of Janardhan Shetty from Kanakamajalu, Sullia, mentioned that he, his father, and his grandfather, Ramayya Rai, had left home around 8:30 PM to attend a bhajan event in their village.
While walking along the roadside, a speeding car traveling from Puttur towards Sullia struck Shetty and Rai. The driver fled the scene immediately after the incident.
Both victims suffered critical injuries and were initially admitted to a nearby hospital. Later, they were transferred to a private hospital in Mangaluru for advanced treatment. Unfortunately, they succumbed to their injuries the following day.
A case has been filed at the Sullia police station, and authorities are investigating to trace the absconding driver.
