Dharmasthala: Two young men who reportedly run a YouTube channel were allegedly apprehended by locals after entering the Banglagudde Reserved Forest under the jurisdiction of Dharmasthala police station without permission to film a video.
According to reports circulating on social media, the two youths were later handed over to the police. The Forest Department has registered a case against them for allegedly entering the reserved forest without prior permission and said further legal action would be taken.
Forest Department registers case
The two reportedly entered the Banglagudde Reserved Forest to record video content for their YouTube channel. As entry into the reserved forest requires the necessary permission, the Forest Department initiated action after the incident came to its notice.
The youths were subsequently taken to the Dharmasthala police station.
Officials are expected to proceed with further action in accordance with the applicable forest laws and regulations.
No complaint over alleged assault
When the two young men arrived at the police station, they were reportedly advised to lodge a complaint if they had been subjected to assault or harassment by locals while being apprehended.
The youths reportedly said they would discuss the matter and decide whether to file a complaint.
As of now, no complaint has reportedly been registered regarding any alleged assault or harassment in connection with the incident.

It has also been reported that the two individuals are accused in the previously reported ‘Burude Case’.
The latest incident has drawn attention because of the alleged unauthorised entry into a reserved forest for filming purposes. Further details are expected as the Forest Department proceeds with its investigation.
