Puttur, June 29: A man who undertook road digging without proper permission from the local panchayat has been fined Rs 10,000 and instructed to restore the road to its original motor-worthy condition. The incident occurred on the road connecting NH to Nattibailu, where the individual dug up the road to install an underground pipe for his house, causing significant inconvenience to the public and obstructing vehicular movement.
The unauthorised excavation prompted numerous complaints from residents to the local panchayat. Responding swiftly, the panchayat development officer (PDO) visited the site, imposed the hefty fine on the offender, and mandated that he repair the damaged road at his own expense.
The decisive action taken by the panchayat has been widely applauded by the public for upholding civic order and ensuring minimal disruption to daily commuting routes.
