Mangaluru: In a press meet held at the Mangaluru Press Club, Jayashreekrishna Parisara Premi Samiti, an NGO committed to the upliftment of Karnataka’s coastal belt, reiterated its pledge to eliminate communal discord in the undivided Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts. The organization emphasized nurturing peace and brotherhood as essential pillars for regional growth.

Founder Tonse Jayakrishna A. Shetty underscored the Samiti’s dedication to fostering social unity and a violence-free atmosphere. He pointed out that communal unrest, which has escalated since the 1990s, threatens the future of younger generations and must be eradicated.

Commending the government’s proactive measures and the appointment of a dynamic police commissioner, Shetty highlighted that sustaining harmony lies in the hands of every citizen. He emphasized collective responsibility and noted that their Mumbai-based wing includes people of all faiths, bound by a shared vision for regional development.

State Coordinator K. P. Jagadish Adhikari revisited their plan to form peace committees of 8–10 people across districts, ensuring representation from all communities. He confirmed that such a team has already been constituted.

Adhikari also spotlighted issues like drug trafficking and stressed the need for spreading positivity. He expressed optimism regarding upcoming industrial initiatives and their interactions with the Chief Secretary.

Entrepreneur Haidar Partippadi and District Chairman Harish Kumar M. Shetty praised the Samiti’s efforts in combating social division and boosting tourism and education, while extending support to environmental and industrial projects.
