The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) will organize a padayatra on Sunday, starting from Kadri Sri Manjunatha Temple in Mangaluru and concluding at Koragajja Shrine in Kuthar, to offer prayers for the preservation of Hindu religion and customs.

Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, Shivanand Mendon, VHP’s zonal joint secretary, stated that the organization has been conducting padayatras for the past four years with success. He reaffirmed VHP’s commitment to safeguarding Sanatan Dharma and Hindu culture, adding that the organization stands united against any form of insult or attack on religion. These padayatras and mass prayers aim to strengthen Hindu unity, he said.

The event will begin at 6 AM from Kadri Temple, culminating at Koragajja Shrine by 9:30 AM, where a valedictory ceremony will take place. Chakravarty Sulibele, a well-known orator, will deliver a speech. Transportation will be arranged for participants returning from Kuthar, and food will be provided during the event, he added.

Additionally, Sharan Pumpwell, VHP’s pranta sahakaryadarshi, announced the organization’s support for a protest march on March 18 by devotees of Nellidadi Guthu Jumadi Banta Daivasthana. The protest demands that Mangalore Special Economic Zone (MSEZ) permit religious rituals at the shrine, as it holds deep spiritual significance for devotees across the country.
