Uppinangady: A complaint has been filed with the Uppinangady police against Sachitha Rai for allegedly cheating her friend, Rakshitha, of ₹13.11 lakh by promising a government job. According to the complaint, Sachitha, a teacher from Kasaragod’s Baduru, claimed to have connections to secure jobs in Kerala’s Neera Varti department or SBI Bank.
Rakshitha, believing her friend, paid the amount in multiple transactions. Sachitha initially took ₹8.66 lakh through bank transfers and the remaining amount through Google Pay. Rakshitha’s father, a retired employee, had given the initial payment from his retirement funds to secure his daughter’s future.
Sachitha had promised to use her influence to get Rakshitha a government job, citing her connections to a powerful person. However, Rakshitha realized she was duped when Sachitha’s promises remained unfulfilled. The police are investigating the matter.
The incident has left Rakshitha’s family in distress, with her father’s health deteriorating due to the financial loss. The case highlights the increasing cases of job scams and the importance of verifying claims before making payments. The police are urging caution and advising individuals to be vigilant when dealing with job offers.
