Puttur: A 42-year-old woman was allegedly murdered by her husband following a domestic dispute at Golthila near Kattatharu in Ariyadka village of Puttur taluk on Friday, police said.
The deceased has been identified as Savithri (42), a native of Kumaramangala. The accused, Purushottama alias Bairappa, is a resident of Emetti.
Dispute turns fatal
According to preliminary reports, the incident occurred after a heated argument broke out between the couple at their residence. What began as a domestic dispute reportedly escalated into violence, resulting in the death of Savithri.
Police sources indicated that the husband allegedly attacked his wife during the altercation, leading to her death on the spot. The exact cause of death is yet to be confirmed and will be determined following a post-mortem examination.
