Jayabharathi (56) is battling serious burn injuries after a shocking attack by her brother-in-law, who allegedly poured petrol over her and set her ablaze while she was sleeping at her residence in Kallarpe, Kodiala village, Sullia. Following the attack, Jayabharathi received initial treatment at a local hospital in Sullia before being transferred to a hospital in Mangaluru for more advanced medical care.
